. In the 'Tables' column I enclude the movement: H = Howell; M = Mitchell; I = Individual; T = Teams
. For Mitchell movements we have two winners, N/S and E/W.
. You may notice that with 6 tables the duplicate movement is sometimes a Mitchell and sometimes a Howell. There is actually some reasoning behind this. The 6 table Mitchell movement that I use is 5 boards a round (so 30 in total) and is excellent. But when there's a sit-out (so 5
½ tables) I use a
¾ Howell 6 table movement. The Howell
¾ movement is not totally satisfactory as everybody misses playing against 2 pairs, but I use it because otherwise the sit-out would be 5 boards.
. Similarly, with 6
½ tables I usually use a 7 table Howell movement rather than a Mitchell as the sit-out is then only 2 boards as opposed to 4 boards.
